As a first step to gathering relevant international and on the ground expertise on assessing biodiversity, Armajaro and Bioversity International conducted a review of known methodologies.
The review is comprised of two main sections:
1. A synopsis of general roles and functions (social, economic and ecological) of biodiversity in cocoa systems and;
2. A summary of rapid plant/tree biodiversity assessment methods for cocoa systems.
This review, along with being a stand alone reference for other organizations seeking information on this topic, fed into Armajaro's larger goal of implementing rapid biodiversity assessments (RBAs) across over 10,000 farms in rural Ghana.
