Martina Kirchberger is an Assistant Professor in Economics at Trinity College Dublin and a Research Affiliate at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) and the International Growth Centre (IGC). She is a theme leader for the Structural Transformation and Economic Growth (STEG) research initiative and is currently Director of the MSc in Economics at Trinity. She received her DPhil in Economics from the University of Oxford and was previously an Earth Institute Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Columbia University.
Martina is a development economist with a particular interest in using micro data to answer macro questions in the areas of urbanization, infrastructure, the construction sector, labor markets, and patterns of spatial mobility. In recent work, she examines the role of distortions in the investment sector for capital accumulation and cross-border flows of construction. She has also been involved in two randomized controlled trials with global construction firms.
