The conference aims to provide an interdisciplinary platform where various environmental, social and sustainability related issues and challenges will be discussed. In its endeavor to achieve development after political and economic reforms, there is a need to strengthen capacities for conducting environmental and social impact assessments to promise sustainable development in Myanmar.
The conference is initiated by Myanmar Environmental Assessment Association (MEAA), a union-level organization which focuses on building capacities of individuals, consultants, researchers and all interested parties for national sustainable and jointly organized with International Finance Corporation (IFC) supported by the governments of Australia and UK.
This conference will create a unique platform for a diversity of stakeholders including researchers, scientists, industry experts, NGOs, EIA practitioners and policy makers to exchange valuable information and current knowledge and identify effective solutions to address environmental and social sustainability in Myanmar.
