Istanbul, Türkiye, September 22, 2025— IFC today announced an equity investment in Çağatay Evcil Hayvan Mamaları ve Yem Ürünleri San. ve Tic. A.Ş. (Çağatay Pet Food), Türkiye’s second-largest dry pet food producer, to help expand Çağatay Pet Food’s operations, strengthen its direct-to-consumer platform, and create jobs in the growing pet food sector and across the value chain.

IFC’s equity co-investment, alongside Turkey Growth Fund IV (advised by Turkven, leading private equity advisory firm in Türkiye) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), will enable a new state-of-the-art facility designed to triple the company’s production capacity and increase competitiveness in the pet food sector.

The investment is expected to increase Çağatay Pet Food’s workforce and support more than 1,000 direct and indirect jobs. IFC will also provide advisory services to increase women’s employment and sustainable practices across the value chain. Overall, the investment is expected to contribute to value add in Türkiye’s economy—deepening market competitiveness and fostering sustainable, inclusive growth.

“We have been impressed with the Çağatay Pet Food’s truly differentiated direct-to-consumer based sales model, well positioned to benefit from e-commerce tailwinds, and its strong manufacturing capabilities,” said Aksel Şahin, Partner at Turkven. “We look forward to augmenting the company’s multiple growth initiatives and delivering its high-quality products to a much wider customer base.”

“This investment marks a significant milestone for Türkiye’s pet food industry,” said Wiebke Schloemer, IFC Director, Türkiye and Central Asia. “By partnering with Turkven and the EBRD to invest in Çağatay Pet Food, IFC is helping to unlock new growth opportunities, create jobs, and elevate industry standards for quality and sustainability.”

Türkiye’s pet food market has shown strong, resilient growth on the back of rising pet ownership and demand for high-quality, affordable products. In a market underserved by equity capital, IFC’s investment will provide much needed capital in a challenging macroeconomic environment, supporting Çağatay Pet Food in realizing its growth potential.
