Lima, Peru, September 17th, 2024 – The International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, has granted a $150 million financing package to Grupo Ransa to further consolidate its leadership in the region through sustainable growth.

Grupo Ransa is a leading Third-Party Logistics (3PL) operator in Latin America, with operations in 12 countries. The IFC financing is accompanied by a decarbonization plan to manage the company's climate transition impact and risk, and to promote diversity and inclusion in the countries where it operates.

Cheryl Edleson Hanway, Director of Infrastructure, Energy, and Mining for IFC in Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean, stated: "The private sector plays a crucial role in developing sustainable infrastructure and improving supply chains and logistics services, which reduces costs, increases productivity, and strengthens the economy. This financing package for Ransa makes us proud, as it reaffirms our commitment to continue promoting the development of logistics services that drive our sustainability, inclusion, and productivity strategy for Latin America."

Latin America and the Caribbean are behind other regions in terms of infrastructure, logistics, and related services. According to the World Bank's 2023 Logistics Performance Index (LPI), Latin America and the Caribbean rank 92nd out of 139 countries in 2023, lower than East Asia, the Pacific, Europe, and Central Asia. This performance is attributable to limited logistics infrastructure, low value-added services, and high informality.

Paolo Sacchi, CEO of Grupo Ransa, commented, "This transaction is an important milestone in the company's strategy and will give us a boost to continue growing sustainably throughout the region."
