Private Sector Solutions for Helping Smallholder Farmers
Changing Lives, the flagship publication of the Private Sector Window of the Global Agriculture and Security Program (GAFSP), highlights the ways that the Private Sector Window’s blended finance investments and advisory support unlocks opportunity for smallholder farmers in some of the world’s poorest and most fragile countries. This edition features impact stories about how the Private Sector is boosting resilience and improving the lives and livelihoods of rural communities.
The 2026 edition includes impact stories and videos about IFC and Private Sector Window-supported projects in Nigeria, Zambia, Tanzania and Uzbekistan, where training and investment support are helping create jobs, strengthen farmer cooperatives, streamline local value chains and boost food security.
Since our program began in 2011, GAFSP’s Private Sector Window, in collaboration with IFC, has approved investments totaling $593 million to support 102 agribusiness projects in 29 countries. Additionally, we have supported $60 million in 117 advisory projects across 36 countries.
