The Board of Executive Directors has accepted the resignation of Janine Ferretti as Director General of the Compliance Advisor Ombudsman (CAO).
The Board recognizes Ms. Ferretti’s service and her contributions to strengthening the CAO’s role as the independent accountability mechanism of IFC and MIGA. Under her leadership, the CAO has continued to advance its mandate to address complaints in a fair, objective, and constructive manner, and to promote accountability and learning across the World Bank Group.
As of June 9, a transparent and competitive recruitment process for a Vice President/Director General to lead the World Bank Group’s new Independent Accountability Mechanism is underway, led by the Boards. In the interim, the CAO will continue to function under its existing policies and mandates, and the Board will work closely with CAO to ensure continuity during the transition. The Board reaffirms the importance of a strong, independent accountability mechanism and remains committed to supporting its effective functioning.
