Transforming for the Jobs of Tomorrow
The Rwanda Country Private Sector Diagnostic (CPSD) examines how private sector growth can support the country’s development goals. While Rwanda has advanced along its development path, there is an urgent need to create productive jobs to drive inclusive economic transformation.
The Rwanda CPSD identifies two business sectors—agribusiness and affordable housing—that offer short-term opportunities for market creation, and have the potential to meet the jobs challenge. But Rwanda must address cross-cutting issues including access to skills and high costs of transportation, finance and ICT that inhibit the competitiveness of the private sector, while tackling sector-specific constraints that exist in these two sectors such as access to key inputs.
