As Chief Executive Officer of OCP Africa, she drives the company’s mission to strengthen food security, empower farmers, and promote sustainable agricultural ecosystems across the continent.
Before joining OCP Africa, Hajar held senior roles at Unilever, including General Manager for Nutrition Southeast Asia & Indonesia and Chairperson & Managing Director of Unilever Sri Lanka. There, she led record growth, expanded market leadership, and advanced the company’s sustainability and inclusion agenda. Renowned for her transformative and inclusive leadership, she combines strategic vision with deep cultural empathy. A graduate in Marketing and Business Administration, she holds executive certifications from INSEAD and Cambridge.
She also serves as the Chair of the board of the Africa Fertilizer Industry Development Association (AFIDA), which brings together key stakeholders across the fertilizer value chain to foster innovation and accelerate agricultural transformation across Africa. Recognized as Global Female Leader of the Year (ASEAN 2023), she continues to champion purpose-driven, sustainable growth across Africa and beyond.
