Banu Demir is a Professor of Economics at the University of Oxford. She was a Visiting Assistant Professor at Princeton University in 2016–2017, and a Visiting Fellow at the Centre for Economic Performance at the London School of Economics in Spring 2022. She is a Research Fellow of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) in the International Trade and Regional Economics Programme, and an affiliate of the CESifo Research Network. She received her DPhil in Economics from the University of Oxford in 2012. Her research focuses on international trade, firm dynamics, and environmental economics, with an emphasis on global trade policies, firm productivity, and sustainability using empirical micro-level data.
