Health Conference 2013

IFC and Johns Hopkins Medicine International organized a private health care conference,  "Making Global Connections: Leading Change in Emerging Health Markets" in Istanbul, Turkey, March 19-20, 2013. The event brought together leaders in the health industry to exchange ideas, knowledge, and good practices.

Participants included private health service providers, pharmaceutical and medical technology manufacturers, national health insurers and policy makers, financiers, supply chain management companies, and professional associations. There were more than 250 attendees.

To date, IFC has provided financing of more than $2.2 billion to 164 private health care and life sciences projects in 53 countries.  Currently IFC has 86 active health care and life science projects across all regions. IFC-supported health clients provided health services to about 12 million patients in 2011.  This was IFC's fifth health care conference.
