IFC welcomes feedback from the development community on the Anticipated Impact Measurement and Monitoring (AIMM) system’s core project assessment tool—the AIMM Sector Frameworks. Each sector framework provides guidance on how to analyze the potential impact of an IFC investment in the relevant sector—including a central development impact thesis, set of potential project outcomes and market creating effects, and a detailed rating methodology. This project assessment system will enable IFC to assess the expected development impact of our investments and allow IFC to select projects with the greatest potential for financial sustainability and development impact.

  • Consultation Documents:
    • 25 AIMM Sector Frameworks have each been condensed into individual briefs to highlight the core principles of IFC’s approach.
    • A General Guidance Note   on the overall AIMM scoring methodology, which serves as a reference document for all of the frameworks.

  • Consultation Period: The briefs are being released for public consultation in four subsequent sets. The consultation period for each brief will be 45 days. Final versions of the briefs, as well as a summary of the feedback received, will be posted on the AIMM homepage as they become available.

  • Contact: Feedback should be sent by e-mail to AIMMfeedback@ifc.org. Comments received during this time will be taken into consideration and incorporated as appropriate. Unfortunately, we are unable to respond directly to all comments received.
