Venue: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, is launching its innovative green-building certification program in Vietnam. The launch will mark the first introduction of EDGE - Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies in East Asia markets. EDGE aims to help developers reduce their buildings’ energy and water consumption by 20 percent while lowering greenhouse-gas emissions. It provides a free software that allows designers to assess early on the resource efficiency level of buildings using various options and alternative materials. Better design reduces energy and water use, which in turn lowers the monthly utility bills for owners and tenants.

The EDGE Certification System Launch Event in Vietnam will include the following sections:

- EDGE Gallery: showcase green solutions and EDGE certified buildings in Vietnam;

- Demonstration of EDGE online software;

- Panel discussion: representatives from Ministry of Construction, IFC, and developers of EDGE certified buildings, who will provide multi-aspect information and satisfy all related inquiries.
