In order to meet sustained air traffic growth, the government of Jordan sought to invite private sector participation in the expansion and rehabilitation of Amman’s Queen Alia International Airport. IFC advised Jordan’s government how to hold a fair and transparent bidding process, which ultimately attracted five industry leaders. IFC combined advisory services with investment to facilitate the $700 million project’s success by building on IFC’s experience with airport public-private partnerships in Saudi Arabia and Tunisia.
