Inception Workshop for Environmental and Social Standards in the Hydropower Sector Program - Myanmar

In September 2015, the International Finance Corporation, Ministry of Electric Power and Ministry of Environmental Conservation and Forestry signed a tripartite agreement to improve environmental and social standards of the hydropower sector in Myanmar.  IFC will provide capacity building on environmental and social risk management and provide technical guidance to identify, mitigate and management environmental and social risks for the hydropower sector.

 

Workshop Objectives
• Launch of the Environmental and Social Standards in the Hydropower Sector Program with relevant stakeholders.
• To share and discuss information of relevance on hydro and the E&S landscape in Myanmar.
