Manuel Giraldo, a health consultant, shared strategies in a blog for preventing gaps in communication protocols that could undermine effective patient treatment: “Communicating critical values in a timely manner is important for proper patient management and treatment.”
In his latest blog post, Charles Dalton, a Senior Health Specialist, explained the importance of viewing mental health treatment as part of standard care: “Like any disease, mental health problems can have far-reaching consequences on the individual, family, relationships, and ability to study or work.”
Dalton also addressed the common risks associated with launching a new health services project in another piece: “It’s a slam dunk: Invest in a hospital; what could go wrong!?” he asked rhetorically.

IFC Managing Director Makhtar Diop spoke with The Economic Times on IFC’s plans to boost engagement in India by doubling its lending for the country to $2.5¬–3 billion in the next several years, covering various sectors, including healthcare and pharmaceuticals.
Data show that 50 percent of all adverse events occurring among hospitalized patients are related to poor surgical care. To help improve outcomes, our IQ-Healthcare program has created free trainings to help facilities improve their surgical practices. The new session explains the role of effective communication in reducing errors and improving patient safety and care during and after surgery. A previous training focused on internationally recognized best practices in hospital patient identification.
With Latin America and the Caribbean among the hardest hit by COVID-19 among developing countries, IFC announced a $30 million investment in Laboratorios Siegfried, a subsidiary of Argentinian pharmaceutical company Grupo Roemmers.
