Venture capital entrepreneur Matt Greenfield of Rethink Education is interviewed on the future of EdTech investing in emerging markets. We also published a piece in the World Economic Forum Platform on how the COVID-19 pandemic is changing delivery of tertiary education, and issued a new case study on Coursera, the innovative online higher education platform.

We look forward to your comments, including what else you’d like to read about in these updates.

Thought Leadership

Salah-Eddine Kandri, IFC's Global Head of Education, looks at how the COVID-19 pandemic is spawning a long-overdue rebirth of higher education, in an op-ed for the World Economic Forum.

IFC’s new client case study profiles Coursera, an online education company whose mission is to provide anyone, anywhere, with life-changing access to some of the world’s best higher education.

New Investments

Brazil | Ânima

IFC’s investment in Ânima, an existing IFC client and one of the leading private education groups in Brazil, will help to expand quality and affordable education for more students in Brazil, particularly those from low- and middle-income families. The project will help Ânima reach new learners in seven Brazilian states and train thousands of future workers and entrepreneurs as well as health professionals in areas where there are few doctors and very few trained nurses.
