We conduct evaluations to help fill in knowledge gaps, to learn lessons, and to assess what has been achieved in our projects beyond the outcome indicators which we monitor. We aim to reduce poverty by creating jobs and boosting economic growth; therefore, our evaluations inquire about these two goals as well as the specific objectives of the projects.
Most evaluations are carried out in collaboration with external experts who work with our teams to ensure we adopt the best practice approaches. We conduct impact, process, and meta-evaluations, with a focus on learning what has worked effectively and what has not. Our work complements evaluations conducted by the Independent Evaluation Group, which reports directly to the Board of Directors.
