More Power for Shareholders – Does It Undermine Board Stewardship? The International Corporate Governance Network honored PSAG Chairman Peter Dey with its Lifetime Achiever Award. During his remarks in accepting the award, Peter Dey shared his thoughts on two topics: the ongoing discussion on how to make boards more effective and a trend in the balance of power between boards of directors and shareholders.

Corporate Governance and Risk Management: Making Financial Institutions Better. This short video discusses IFC client engagement and the importance of implementing sound corporate governance practices in banks and other financial institutions.


Russian Journalists and the Forum Discuss Investigative Business Journalism. Editors from four leading Russian regional newspapers met with the Forum to learn how its Media Training Program on Corporate Governance Reporting helps journalists promote business transparency and fight corruption.

The Forum Launches Financial Markets Recovery Project in Indonesia to improve bank directors’ financial risk governance skills, in cooperation with the Indonesian Institute for Corporate Directorship and Perbanas, the Indonesian bank association.

Learning Events

Board Leadership Trainings of Trainers in Vietnam and Indonesia were designed to build capacities among local trainers who will then use the Forum's Corporate Governance Board Leadership Training Resources in their own director training programs.

Web Updates

We have created new web pages for several of the Forum's flagship programs, with relevant events, toolkits and publications:

Corporate Governance Board Leadership Training. With the assistance of Institutes of Directors and other organizations, the Forum is training trainers to help board directors become “change agents” within their organizations for the adoption of corporate governance best practices.

One key element of this program is the Financial Markets Recovery Project, which is designed to equip bank boards to lead with integrity, develop the right skills for exercising oversight, and manage risks with informed judgement.

Corporate Governance Codes and Scorecards. The Forum has supported scores of countries in drafting, implementing, and monitoring corporate governance codes of best practice and scorecards.

Coming Soon

ICGN 2010 Mid-Year Conference, San Francisco, USA, October 6-7. This conference will unravel the complexities facing the US financial system today and seeks to identify solutions to help ensure long-term sustainability and growth. It will also highlight international corporate governance trends since the global financial crisis of 2008 and the subsequent recession.
