BIG News!

The Forum released Governing Banks, a new sector-specific curriculum for its Board Leadership Training Resources Toolkit. The supplement is a key milestone in the Forum’s Financial Markets Recovery Project (FMRP) to improve bank directors' financial risk-governance skills. An intensive bank director training program will follow in Indonesia and other East Asian countries through the Institute of Directors of East Asia (IDEA.net), in cooperation with IFC, the Indonesian Institute for Corporate Directorship (IICD), and Perbanas. Progress in Brazil’s Corporate Governance Practices. Simon Wong, Member of the Forum's Private Sector Advisory Group, praised the progress in Brazil's corporate governance practices at the 11th Annual Conference of the Brazilian Institute of Corporate Governance (IBGC). In an interview with Brazil Economico, Simon Wong stated that the Novo Mercado, a listing segment for the trading of shares issued by companies that commit themselves to good corporate governance practices, is an inspiration for other countries like Mexico and the Philippines. (Portuguese)

Call for Papers

The Forum and the Asian Institute of Corporate Governance call for papers to be presented at the 3rd International Conference on Corporate Governance in Emerging Markets, to be held May 28-29, 2011 in Seoul, Korea.
