This paper has a set of recommendations on ethical principles and the corporate compliance function. It is based on discussions and input from member companies of the Compliance and Ethics Working Group of the Latin American Companies Circle.
The Companies Circle is a group of Latin American firms that have demonstrated leadership in advocating for corporate governance improvements in companies throughout Latin America, and which seek to practice advanced corporate governance themselves.
The objective of the paper is to share a set of good practices for companies in Latin America to consider in developing, implementing or improving their ethical guidelines and compliance policies and practices. The Companies Circle considers this paper as a ‘living’ document which may be updated from time to time to reflect changing realities, as well as to draw attention to developments in the corporate governance field.
