CHUEE Producing a “Toolkit” for Sustainable Energy Financing
The CHUEE program is taking on a more holistic approach to sustainable energy financing by assisting partner banks with organizational capacity building, pipeline development, and partnerships with local players instead of only providing advisory support for individual projects.
With this new focus, the CHUEE Advisory Services team is producing the “China Sustainable Energy Financing (SEF) Case Study Book,” a practical toolkit for financial institutions wishing to set up a sustainable energy financing program. It features case studies based on CHUEE portfolio cases over the past six years. These case studies cover eight main industries within the energy efficiency and renewable energy fields and can be used by financial institutions to carry out assessments and evaluations on SEF projects.
The target audience for the book is bank loan officers, relationship managers, and credit officers. It aims to help financial institutions with their internal training and capacity-building activities relating to SEF. As of end of May 2012, more than 60 cases have been identified and collected, and the first book draft is expected soon.
