IFC and partners are moving forward with the first private credit bureau in Indonesia. Tony Lythgoe, IFC Credit Bureau Program Manager, discusses the benefits and challenges of the credit bureau initiative. As Indonesia's consumer credit rate grows rapidly, the private credit bureau will help store good track records from lenders and borrowers, and reduce the risk of non-performing loans involving banks, lenders, individuals, and businesses.
