Lunch Lesson: Recharging Africa’s Solar Market

Solar power has limitless potential in Africa—but ramping up is very complicated. When I started on IFC’s Africa Infrastructure team six years ago, there were no large solar power projects operating in the region. Three of my colleagues started brainstorming ways to change this and formed a small team to design a product that could make a real difference. Four years on, the Scaling Solar program is now delivering Africa’s cheapest solar power. So, how did it work? Pull up a chair and find out.
