In its sixth year, the IFC Global Private Health Conference will provide a unique environment for leaders in the health industry from developed and emerging markets to exchange ideas, knowledge and best practices.
Collaboration between public and private sectors can expand access to quality health care. IFC is supportting development of an integrated health campus in Adana, Turkey - part of a nation-wide public-private partnership program.
Good health enables people to study, work and care for their families. IFC's investment in Rede D'Or, the largest network of private hospitals in Brazil, helps broaden access to health care.
Diabetes, cancer, and cardio-vascular disease have emerged as serious public health problems in developing countries, as they have made strides in fighting communicable diseases.
IFC will invest $10 million in equity to support the expansion of Bridge International Academies, a provider of high-quality primary and pre-primary education for children from poor families.

Health and education are the foundation for human development. It is difficult to hold a job or care for a family if one is sick, or doesn’t have relevant skills and knowledge. Expanding access to health and education services is a central element for any strategy to eliminate poverty and reduce inequality. In developing countries, the poor often turn to private sector health and education providers for access to services.
