Fourth Annual Responsible Finance Forum 2013
Over the last few years risk protection for the low-income population by insurance has significantly increased. However, only adequate products of good quality can help low income households in effectively managing their risks. This entails consumer protection needs to be higher in this segment and failures can have severe consequences for the insured as well as for the development of emerging insurance markets in general.
The German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) therefore cordially invite you to attend the:
Responsible Finance Forum IV Consumer Protection in Emerging Insurance Markets 24th– 25th June 2013 Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development, Berlin, Germany
- by Invitation only to our Partners-
The fourth Responsible Finance Forum is organized in coordination with the Access to Insurance Initiative (A2ii), the Consultative Group to Assist the Poor (CGAP), the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS), the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the International Labour Office (ILO), the Microinsurance Network, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands and the Munich Re Foundation.
The Responsible Finance Forum IV is intended to promote a debate on consumer protection in emerging insurance markets. Primarily, we intend to identify and link emerging political, social and economic opportunities for stakeholder action.
RFF IV will bring together members of the Community of Practice, insurers, insurance supervisors and development experts to share views on how best to protect consumers and to discuss experiences in this field.
We are looking forward to welcoming you in Berlin. Please find enclosed a draft agenda and final note on Responsible Finance Forum IV.
