With an office in Brussels, the relationship between the EU and IFC has grown stronger in recent years. IFC maintains an ongoing strategic dialogue with the European Commission which is also one of IFC's largest donors. EU Member States hold almost a third of IFC’s shares.
IFC’s relationship with the European Commission is far-reaching. In addition to partnering on joint initiatives, IFC and the EC share knowledge, including on areas where IFC has particular expertise, such as the private sector, fragile and conflict states, and concessional finance.
