IFC provides advisory services to support the private sector in the countries covered by IFC's Southern Europe and Central Asia (SECA) Department.
The programs operate in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the FYR Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia, Bulgaria, Romania and Moldova. They were formally launched in July 2005 and have been established for an initial period of five years.
Programs are concentrated in four business lines:
- Value Addition to Firms: Corporate Governance, Recycling Linkages, International Standards and Technical Regulations.
- Business Enabling Environment: Alternative Dispute Resolution, Sub-national Competitiveness.
- Access to Finance: Housing Finance, Sustainable Finance, Bank Capacity Building and Microfinance.
- Infrastructure Advisory Services: Advisory services for the structuring and implementation of Private Sector Participation (PSP) transactions in all infrastructure sub-sectors.
