Associations of banks and other non-governmental organizations are welcome to call upon Project experts for training of staff members on corporate governance practices. Together with the associations, the Project may identify possible areas of self-regulation in the banking sector and advise the organizations in the most effective set-up and implementation of such initiatives. The Project welcomes feedback from the banking sector on legislative reform efforts to ensure more rational laws and private sector buy-in, with a view to increasing compliance. The Project will assist in providing comments on new draft laws and regulations, information on legislation in other countries, and international best practices. The work of the Project in this regard is driven by demand for assistance and advice from both the banks and the local legislative authorities. |
