Sub-Saharan Africa

  • Sustainable forestry - Assistance to a leading FSC-certified forest products company to develop new revenue streams from its timber and land holdings in South Africa.
  • Healthy drinking water – Investment to help expand a distributed, low cost, potable water service provider targeting emerging markets and using an innovative ultra-violet (UV) technology platform in India, Sri-Lanka, Philippines and Ghana.
  • Irrigation foot pump – Assistance to a hand-operated irrigation pump manufacturer to accelerate commercialization and get access to local debt in Tanzania.

East Asia and the Pacific

  • Recycling plastics from electronics - Investment to help finance a start-up which recycles the high grade plastics from electronics and white goods in Guangzhou, China.
  • Waste water treatment - Investment to help finance a new wastewater treatment technology for straw pulp mills, with a pilot project in China.
  • Healthy drinking water – Investment to help expand a distributed, low cost, potable water service provider targeting emerging markets and using an innovative ultra-violet (UV) technology platform in India, Sri-Lanka, Philippines and Ghana.
  • Renewable energy - Grant to co-finance consultant expenses associated with technical review, regulatory, policy and project structuring advisory services to develop the first Mongolian wind farm, a 30-50 MW project near Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

  • Recycling tire and rubber waste – Assistance to establish tire recycling for leading tire manufacturer in Serbia and Montenegro.
  • Sustainable agribusiness – Assistance to an organic, fair trade producer of medicinal herbs and health products derived from traditional recipes in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

  • Sustainable forestry –Grant to an FSC-certified forest products company to develop new revenue streams from its timber and land holdings in Brazil.
  • Cleaner transport - Grant to support trial operation of two CNG buses to reduce emissions of pollutants and greenhouse gases from buses in the City of Mexico.
  • Sustainable agribusiness - Grant to cover the cost of a market feasibility study for an early stage mariculture company that has developed a proprietary technology to commercially raise Queen Conch in the Caribbean.
