In 2001, the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs and IFC set up the Netherlands-IFC Partnership Program to consolidate all Dutch-supported advisory services programs under implemented by IFC under one umbrella. This agreement, which sets out the framework for the management of the dialogue between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and IFC, provides for formal consultations on strategy and review of potentail new projects designed by IFC departments seeking support from the Dutch.

The Netherlands Partnership Program promotes private sector development in IDA countries in four priority areas - small business development, access to finance, environment and corporate and social responsibility, and business climate and advisory services for public-private partnerships.
