IFC has a global network of monitoring and evaluation officers in its regional facilities, other donor funded operations, and departments engaged in advisory work.

The network is led by Geeta Batra, who also manages the M&E officers stationed at IFC headquarters in Washington DC.

Principal areas of work include:

  • Developing standard indicators in cooperation with IFC's advisory service business lines
  • Supervising external reviews of IFC projects
  • Implementing experimental/quasi-experimental impact evaluations
  • Designing analytical tools for cost-benefit analysis
  • Conducting training on M&E concepts and procedures
  • Facilitating the exchange of ideas via M&E Conferences
