(1) How can M&E help my project start off right?

We have found that proper scoping (including field visits and discussions with clients/stakeholders) often makes a critical contribution to project success, especially when performed prior to implementation. Scoping helps project teams to understand important but easily-overlooked project details, enabling them to anticipate potential challenges and identify aspects of the operating environment unique to a particular project.

IFC's "20 Questions for Evaluation Design" is an instrument designed to help ensure that key issues are addressed as early as possible in the project lifecycle. To discuss your scoping needs with an evaluation officer, please email resultsmeasurement@ifc.org.
