IFC and BNDES Help Brazil Accelerate Major National Road Improvement Project
Sao Paulo, Brazil, October 13, 2009With assistance from IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, and the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES), the government of Brazil has signed a 25-year concession agreement with the Rodobahia Consortium to upgrade and expand nearly 700 kilometers of federal roads in the State of Bahia.

IFC Retained as Lead Financial Advisor to Help Mobilize Private-Sector Investment for Ring Road Project in Jordan
September 29, 2008 — IFC will help mobilize private sector investment for the 118-kilometer expressway, the first road project to be delivered by the private sector under Jordan’s public-private partnership program. The expressway is being built in three phases. The first phase is underway and implemented by the Ministry of Public Works and Housing. It involves the construction of a 41-kilometer road to be completed in 2010. The second and third phases will involve a 77-kilometer road.
