We assist national and municipal governments to implement private-sector participation projects in infrastructure, health and education.

Established in 1989, IFC's Advisory Services in Infrastructure has worked on more than 250 transactions worldwide and is the only multilateral institution to offer direct advisory services to governments on implementing private-sector participation transactions.

IFC Seminar Highlights Private Sector Solutions
How the private sector can help governments cope with pressing infrastructure problems was the topic of a recent IFC seminar on municipal water, wastewater, and desalination, which was held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The two-day event featured nine panels on topics ranging from the energy requirements of desalination, to investors’ perspectives on water projects, to building government capacity for public-private partnerships.

Representatives of governments, private companies, and multi-lateral institutions in the Middle East, South Asia, and Africa were among the more than 50 participants. This is the second in a series being sponsored by IFC to explore how public-private partnerships can leverage increased infrastructure investments. The event was co-sponsored by the Public-Private Infrastructure Advisory Facility and The Infrastructure Consortium for Africa.
