Regional Consultation Workshops Between September and December 2004, IFC convened four regional consultation workshops for all IFC stakeholders- from project-affected communities and non-profit organizations, to government, the private sector, academia, international and bilateral development organizations, and financiers. Each workshop was professionally facilitated and followed by an open public forum.
The workshops addressed both IFC's draft Policy & Performance Standards on Social and Environmental Sustainability and the Policy Framework for the review of IFC's Policy on Disclosure of Information. The proposed policy documents were discussed in parallel workshops with joint sessions on overlapping issues. Consultations were held in Rio de Janeiro, Manila, Nairobi, and Istanbul. A Final Report summarizing the comments from all four regional consultations has also been prepared.
