IFC Begins the Review and Update of Its Sustainability Framework
On September 8, IFC launched the review and update process of the Policy and Performance Standards on Social and Environmental Sustainability and Policy on Disclosure of Information (sustainability framework). The process is expected to last until December 2010 and the updated framework to be released by January 2011.
We will be consulting with stakeholders throughout the next 18 months in three stages using face-to-face meetings as well as online consultations via the PARTICIPATE section of this website.
At the initial stage of consultation, we will seek stakeholders' inputs on clarity of language, implementation effectiveness, and gaps in the current coverage. During the next two stages we will consult on proposed revisions to the sustainability framework.
Throughout the entire process we will provide regular updates via email alerts to stakeholders. We will also engage through PRolog, a blog where our specialists will discuss topics related to the review and update process.
Consulting with our stakeholders is a key part of the update of our policies and standards, and we hope the channels we’ve created to collect advice, comments and feedback will help us reach the highest level of participation! |
