The International Finance Corporation’s Southeast Europe Corporate Governance Project is assisting companies and banks in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Serbia and Montenegro to improve their corporate governance standards.
Corporate governance refers to control and direction of companies and relationships among the management, board of directors and shareholders as defined by the corporate charter, bylaws and the applicable laws. Good corporate governance will make a company more profitable, enable its growth and increase company’s access to external finance: domestic and international, public and private.
The project is also working with the public sector to establish effective corporate governance frameworks and assisting educational institutions to increase training capacities in the field of corporate governance.
The Southeast Europe Corporate Governance Project is implemented by the International Finance Corporation with the support of the Government of Switzerland through the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) as a part of the Private Enterprise Partnership for Southeast Europe.
