Timor-Leste E-Booking Appraisal

In January 2006, IFC-PEDF joined with the Tourism Association of East Timor to conduct a tourism awareness workshop in Dili, Timor-Leste as part of its evaluation of the viability of an e-booking system for the country’s tourism operators using the worldhotel-link.com portal. Approximately 22 hotel operators and other interested parties attended the workshop. Feedback from all participants was very enthusiastic about establishing an e-marketplace in Timor-Leste and was also echoed by the Director of Tourism, Mr Miguel Lobato, who opened the workshop.
