PEP-Pacific’s work will focus on three thematic pillars across the region, (Access to Finance, Tourism, Business Enabling Environment) while simultaneously building up country-focused programs in Papua New Guinea and Timor-Leste that will have some common features, including an emphasis on rural enterprise development (agribusiness / fisheries).
All programs are being designed to:
- focus on facilitating investments in priority sectors;
- work in partnership with and complement existing donor programs;
- address business environment-related issues;
- address and integrate sustainability issues e.g. environment, gender, governance, etc.; and
- have clear metrics (e.g. outputs, outcomes and impact) for effective monitoring and evaluation.
