Credit Scoring System Implementation Program – Stage 5
The first four stages of this technical assistance project were completed by PEDF in quarter one FY05. The purpose of the credit scoring system is to enhance the credit application processes through improved consistency and greater accuracy without significantly increasing the resources required. This last stage focuses on completing a four phase staff training program covering branches in Port Moresby, Lae and PNG North, the Highlands and PNG island region – two phases of the training program were completed this quarter. The training program is integral in Bank South Pacific’s credit scoring roll out, to expand small scale credit availability throughout PNG.
Credit Scoring Training TA
Following the successful completion in late 2005 of the above mentioned program, IFC-PEDF continued during quarter 3 FY06 to conduct staff training courses throughout PNG. Feedback obtained reveals trained BSP staff members are now enthusiastically marketing their products and services at the ‘grassroots’ level.
