IFC Advisory Services in the region - PEP-MENA - is a multi-donor facility, which supports private sector development across the Middle and North Africa. Covering 19 countries from its main office in Cairo, spanning from Morocco in the west to Pakistan in the east, IFC PEP-MENA's mandate is to stimulate private sector growth and income opportunities across the region. IFC Advisory Services are an integral part of IFC's activities in the region. IFC PEP-MENA is funded jointly by IFC and the following donors: Canada, France, the Islamic Development Bank, Japan, Kuwait, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
From its inception in October 2004 through fiscal year 2007, IFC PEP-MENA has provided about $37.7 million in advisory services.

IFC PEP-MENA focuses on the following key initiatives:
- A total of 181 training events delivered to over 3,900 individuals
- Over 5,700 stakeholders, including individuals, enterprises and banks, reached through a number of events ranging from conferences, workshops, to seminars
- 31,000 training seats delivered through Business Edge partners in six countries
- 468 SMEs and financial institutions assisted
- Contributed to the disbursement of 108,994 loans to SMEs for a value of $436 million
- New accounts opened total 11,636 for a value of $151 million
- Assisted financial institutions and Business Membership Organizations (BMOs) to successfully launch 91 new products and services to SMEs
- Helped 19 partners develop 35 operational tools (distribution plans, risk supervision scoring tools, market studies and business plans)
- Financial institutions and BMOs increased their client base to over 649,000 as a result of new and/or improved services and products
- Contributed to drafting 27 new laws, regulations and codes or amendments to existing legal instruments
- PEP-MENA activities have contributed to investment flows for an estimated $1.3 billion
- 331 media reports across the region featuring PEP-MENA's projects
