Since Oman became a member of IFC in 1973, the Corporation has committed about $231 million of its own funds in the country and arranged about $57 million in syndications and guarantee participations, as of end fiscal year 2007. IFC’s strategy in Oman is to promote sectors such as housing finance and small and medium enterprise development, with high development impact and employment creation potential.

Advisory Services

In fiscal year 2007, IFC committed to invest $7 million in Oman ORIX Leasing Company to support the company’s growing operations, primarily for increased onlending to small businesses in the country.
