IFC has had many firsts in Egypt, including:
- The first factoring company, Egypt Factors. The company, which was incorporated in November 2006, will help small businesses to manage their cash flows better.
- The first private housing finance company, the Egyptian Housing Finance Company, which was incorporated in May 2004, provides much needed mortgage loans.
- The first private life insurance company, Commercial International Life, the fastest growing company in the sector, was incorporated in 2000.
- The first leasing company, Orix Leasing, which was incorporated in 1999, is providing much needed financing to small and medium enterprises.
