November 17, 2004 — Bat Trang pottery entered an exciting new era with the launch of its new brand ‘BAT TRANG VIETNAM – 1,000 YEARS OF CRAFTSMANSHIP’ and an Export Promotion Center.’
The launch, which was held at the historic Temple of Literature in Hanoi on 17 November 2004, marked the start of a fresh chapter in Bat Trang’s long history. The project is funded by the Mekong Private Sector Development Facility (IFC-MPDF), a multi-donor initiative managed by the International Finance Corporation, the private sector arm of the World Bank.
The Bat Trang brand will belong to the village’s community and will ultimately give small scale producers in the village international recognition, as well as securing their position in the domestic market. The Bat Trang Ceramics Export Promotion Center (BTEP) consists of a small management team devoted to ensuring the highest level of customer service in order to successfully market Bat Trang brand products, both internationally and domestically.
