This Discussion Paperwas prepared in 2008 and 2009 to assess the demand for alternative dispute resolution in Cambodia and to provide recommendations for the establishment of an effective mechanism for commercial arbitration. This Discussion Paper summarizes the types of commercial disputes that occur in Cambodia, how businesses resolve them, and whether a formal alternative to the courts through the establishment of the National Arbitration Center could contribute to resolving commercial disputes in a more effective manner.
