Danang Vietnam, February 9th, 2006 — The online accommodation booking organisation Worldhotel-link (www.worldhotel-link.com) and Nam Phuong Travel (www.namphuong-travel.com) announce the launch of three new accommodation portals in Central Vietnam. The sites cover Hue, Danang and Hoi An, and represent a whole new level of choice and convenience for independent travellers to the region. The local owner and operator of the sites, Nam Phuong Travel Service Co. Limited (in Danang), has a long history of tour operations in the region and can now bring this knowledge to the aid of travellers in selecting and booking accommodation and arranging any transport or other needs they might have.
The set-up of the sites has been made possible through a grant from the International Finance Corporation (IFC www.ifc.org) and through work done by the IFC managed Mekong Private Sector Development Facility (MPDF www.mpdf.org) which ran workshops for accommodation providers in the region in late 2005 explaining the benefits of online marketing and subsequently contracted a professional media company to take digital photos and create copy for accommodation providers in all three cities. MPDF and WHL have a special focus on assisting small local accommodation providers to establish an Internet presence, and are particularly pleased to see these sites launching. Mr Len Cordiner, CEO of WHL, explained "many of the small and medium sized accommodation providers in Vietnam are still struggling to understand how they can tap the growing independent traveller market. This is very difficult given challenges like knowledge about international web marketing and being able to communicate with the travellers in fluent English. WHL, a new model of booking service, overcomes these challenges by having a trained local partner to operate the business. Thus we can now help all accommodation providers - even the smallest ones – to promote their properties and to process online bookings.
