Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, March 23-24, 2004 — The Bank Training Center – BTC, in conjunction with Clifford Chance and Vilaf-Hong Duc will host 2 consecutive one-day seminars on the Loan Documentation in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
Loan documentation is a very important part in the process of loan negotiation and execution. Thoroughly prepared and agreed loan documentation would help protect the rights of both the lenders and the borrowers in their transaction.
As Vietnam strives to integrate within the global economy, the banks in Vietnam have a great need to understand and apply the best practices in the preparation and implementation of international standard loan documentation. Senior legal experts will be invited to help the participants to learn about the overall structure of the loan agreement, as well as individual clauses. Part of the seminar program will be dedicated to discussion on of the lenders’ as well as the borrowers’ positions and possible negotiated positions.
Eighty participants coming from commercial banks in Vietnam, including joint stock, foreign and state owned banks, will attend the seminars. They highly appreciate the timely organization of the seminars on this critical topic.
Bank Training Center (BTC)
Established from in November 2001, the BTC, under the financial support from and financially supported by the Mekong Private Sector Development Facility (MPDF), BTC, a 100% wholly owned Vietnamese company with 11 shareholders from joint stock banks, has become a vehicle to assist Vietnamese banks in developing human resource capabilities by providing focused and practical training and advisory services for to their senior management and staff of the banks. In Vietnam’s the rapidly changing evolving financial services sector in Vietnam, the BTC has become an instrument has been instrumental for change, in assisting the local banks in their restructuring process.
By the end of 2003, the BTC has provided 179 training workshops to more than 4,665 participants from join-stock, state-owned and foreign banks based in Vietnam.
