TRANG Nguyen

General Manager, MPDF
Trang manages all advisory services in Vietnam, Cambodia, and Lao PDR. She joined IFC MPDF in January 2001 as a Business Development Officer in Business Development Programs, and was promoted to manager of the BEE program in all three countries in January 2003. Trang has authored a number of papers on private sector issues in Vietnam, including several of IFC MPDFs Private Sector Discussion Papers.
Trang returned to her native Vietnam as a Fulbright Fellow in 1998 to do applied research on community-based microfinance programs. She then worked for several years as a consultant to international organizations in the areas of microfinance, SME development, poverty alleviation and education. She has an MA in Education (with a focus in International Development), and a BA with honors in American Studies (Political Science/History) from Stanford University in the United States. Trang is a United States national.
CHARLES Schneider
Program Manager, Business Enabling Environment

Charles manages the BEE program in all three countries. Chuck has worked in Asia since 1992 and joined MPDF in November of 2006. Before joining MPDF he worked in Cambodia and Lao PDR for four years as a project leader and private sector development specialist for ADB funded projects. He has also worked as an SME finance and banking consultant in several countries, including Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines and Japan for various development agencies, including ADB, World Bank, USAID and the Japanese Government. He has an M.A. in international political economy from Syracuse University. Charles is a United States national.
MARGARETE O. Biallas
Program Manager, Access to Finance

Margarete is responsible for IFC MPDF's financial market projects in Vietnam, Cambodia, and Lao PDR. Before joining IFC MPDF in June 2006, Margarete worked with KfW, where she was responsible for financial market investments in Eastern Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa. She also headed KfW's investments in global microfinance funds and worked in risk management on developing a limit management system for KfW's financial market exposure. Prior to joining KfW, Margarete worked with a consulting company on privatization and SME development. Margarete holds a BA (Economics & International Politics) from University of Cape Town and a Master of Economics from Hochschule fuer Wirtschaft und Politik in Hamburg, Germany. Margarete is a German national.
KARLA Quizon
Program Manager, Environmental and Social Sustainability
Advisory Services, Mekong Region
Karla manages the Environmental and Social Sustainability program. Karla joined IFC MPDF as an Investment Officer in August 1999 and was promoted to Manager of the Garment program in May 2005. Before that, she was head of Business Studies at Regent College in Cambodia. Prior to moving to Cambodia, Karla served as finance manager for Mega City Group of Companies and worked as an auditor at PriceWaterhouseCoopers in the Philippines. She has a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from De La Salle University and is a CPA. Karla is a Philippine national.
KEN Key
Business Development Manager, Supply Chain Linkages

Prior to joining IFC MPDF, Ken was a senior industry specialist with the IFC based in Washington and Hong Kong, where he was responsible for assessing the suitability of projects for IFC investment and loans. Ken also spent over 20 years in the private sector, including 15 years working in senior management positions in manufacturing companies in Africa and Thailand. Ken has a BSc (honors) degree in Production Engineering from Birmingham University in the UK. Ken is a British national.
Tran Phuong TRINH
Operations Manager
Advisory Services, Mekong Region
Since joining IFC MPDF in 2001, Trinh has been involved in all aspects of the Flexible Learning/Business Edge Project, including product development, consultant management, and marketing. Currently she is overall responsible for operation functions of IFC MPDF. She has over 17 years of experience in management training and development using both classroom and work-based approaches. Prior to joining IFC MPDF, Trinh was on the faculty of the Swiss-AIT-Management Development Program where she taught Operations Management and Total Quality Management in Service Businesses. She holds a Master's degree in Engineering from Tokyo University and a PhD in Strategic Management of Technology from the Asian Institute of Technology in Bangkok. Trinh is a Vietnamese national.
