Global Private Equity Conference, May 15-16

IFC, in association with EMPEA (the Emerging Markets Private Equity Association), will host the 10th Annual Global Private Equity Conference in Washington, D.C., on May 15 and 16, 2008.

This year's theme is "Creating Opportunities and Building Value" in emerging market investments. The conference will examine:

  • The global economic impact of private equity
  • How Asia is driving the growth of other markets
  • Which frontier markets are attracting the most interest and why
  • Trends in fast-growing sectors like clean technologies and infrastructure
Robert B. Zoellick, President of the World Bank Group, will deliver the welcome address. Key speakers include Fareed Zakaria, Editor of Newsweek International; global economist David Hale; and Lars Thunell, IFC Executive Vice President and CEO.
